Rajasthan Royals on Saturday confirmed that head coach Rahul Dravid will conclude his tenure with the franchise ahead of IPL 2026. The announcement marks the end of a long and meaningful relationship between Dravid and the Royals, one that stretches back more than a decade.

Dravid first joined the franchise in 2011 after his stint with Royal Challengers Bangalore. He captained Rajasthan Royals until 2013, providing stability and guidance to a side often described as the underdogs of the league. After retiring as a player, he immediately transitioned into a mentoring role for the franchise, serving as mentor in 2014 and 2015, where his calm presence and tactical mind continued to influence the squad.After a gap, Dravid returned to the Royals in a significant role. Having completed his tenure as India’s head coach following the 2023 ODI World Cup and the 2024 T20 World Cup win, he came back ahead of IPL 2025 as the team’s head coach.
